Wagtail Country Park is the perfect place for keen fishermen to relax and enjoy a days fishing from dawn ’til dusk

Wagtail currently has 25 acres and three well-stocked fishing lakes. There is a small lake exclusive to lodge owners, the second largest lake for our visiting touring fishermen and a third lake on our new Kingfisher area for lodge owners to enjoy. Our current lakes are attractively positioned within the development, one having reed beds and the others with central islands, which are beautifully planted, providing a lovely setting whilst you fish.

Our lakes have been dug into the natural clay bed and designed with the pleasure angler in mind. The sides slope gently away towards the lake bed which has been contoured and sculptured to different depths to provide more interesting features for both fish and angler.

All anglers must provide a valid up to date fishing licence in order that you may fish at Wagtail Country Park.

Daily Fishing Tariff:

1 Rod – £8.00

2 Rods – £12.00

Children under 13 Do not need a fishing licence.

Children 13 to 16 Do need a junior fishing licence. All children up to the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Fishing Rules

• NO PEGS TO BE RESERVED OVERNIGHT

1. A valid rod fishing licence is required and must be presented.

2. Only Wagtail mats and landing nets to be used. Deposit £20.

3. Fishing from dawn until dusk only. No night fishing.

4. Children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult.

5. MAXIMUM HOOK SIZE 10.

6. BARBLESS HOOKS ONLY. No Barbed or Microbarbed Hooks.

7. Tackle must be moved from the lake if peg is unattended.

8. Fish being photographed must be held over an unhooking mat and returned to the water quickly.

9. NEVER leave bait or tackle unattended.
(Any equipment left unattended for over 1 hour will be removed)

10. Bite Alarms allowed but must be kept to a low volume.

11. No Keep Nets to be used.

12. No floating baits or surface fishing.

13. No Boilies or Trout Pellets or Nuts.

14. Strictly no braid main line.

15. Please do not throw in Ground Bait – only use in feeders.

PLEASE TREAT FISH AND OTHER ANGLERS WITH RESPECT AND BE MINDFUL OF WILDLIFE AND WATERFOWL.

PLEASE RETURN FISH VIA THE LANDING NET.

PLEASE REPORT ANY WILDLIFE PROBLEMS TO THE OFFICE.

We do bailiff the lakes.

If any of these rules are abused, it will result in no fishing, and you may be asked to leave the Park.

Fishing Tickets are obtained from Park Reception

Fishing Ticket Charges:
£6.00 per person per day for 1 rod – 2 rods £10.00 per day.
Fish for 7 days and pay for 6.
We do not accept day tickets for fishing from non-residents.

Our fishing is exclusive to Wagtail Country Park touring park visitors and lodge owners only no day ticket anglers are accepted.

Only Wagtail Landing mats and nets must be used on the park anything else provided by the fisherman

Our lakes are well stocked with a variety of mixed fish:

Carp over 30 pounds

The following fish up to: Coy Carp 5lb – Perch 2lb – Roach 1lb – Rudd 1lb – Tench 4lb – Barble 4lb – Bream 3lb and much more

You must provide a valid fishing licence prior to being issued a fishing ticket

£7.00 per day 1 rod and £10.00 a day for 2 rods
Refundable Cash Only Deposit Required for Landing Net & Mat (please bring your own handle)
Fish for 7 days and only pay for 6

Also available to purchase from our reception are:

High quality Skretting course pellets (1590 protein) 2ml – 4ml – 6ml – 8ml & 11ml all £3.50 per bag
Sweetcorn
Luncheon meat
Floats

· Dawn till dusk fishing – Strictly no night fishing
· Fishing rod licence required to be seen including children’s
· Only Wagtail landing mats and nets can be used £20 cash only deposit
· Children under 14 to be accompanied by an adult
· Please treat fish and other anglers with respect
· Do not disturb wildlife
· Advise reception immediately if wildlife get tangled in your line
· All fish being photographed must be held over a landing mat
· Taking photo remain on your knees DO NOT STAND
· Please return fish back to water swiftly and alive
· Bite alarms on low and must not be left un-attended
· Tackle must be withdrawn from the lake if un-attended
· DO NOT throw fish back into the lake – use your net
· Barbless hooks only
· Barbed hooks including micro barbs are strictly BANNED
· Ground bait in open feeders only
· No spinning
· Hemp and ground bait in moderation to avoid pollution
· NO keep nets
· NO Nuts – blood worm – jokers – bread – cat or dog meat
· NO floating baits, boilies or bait boats
· NO surface feeding
· NO fishing from lodge decking area

We border all three counties of Lincolnshire, Leicestershire & Nottinghamshire so if you wish to store your caravan with us whilst you are not using it, we can offer you all year round storage facilities.

Secure Cassoa Silver Storage Compounds

We have two secure compounds as part of the site with locked entrance gates and a barrier entry system to get onto the park. The Park is owner operated and both the park owner and park staff live on site for added security.

You may also arrange for onsite caravan maintenance, winterising and washing services if required but may ONLY be carried out in the storage compound.

Caravans Storage Prices. We would ask to be notified of any arrangements made so we can made the compound accessible for the serviceman.

We will provide you with a contract that must be completed and proof of ownership etc will be needed, we will discuss all this with you.

Wagtail Country Park is the perfect place for keen anglers to relax and enjoy fishing from dawn ’til dusk

Wagtail Country Park has 25 acres and three well-stocked fishing lakes. Our smallest lake is for the exclusive use of lodge owners, our second and largest lake is for our visiting touring fishermen, and our third lake (within our new Kingfisher area) is for lodge owners to enjoy. Our lakes are attractively positioned within the development, providing a lovely setting whilst you fish.

Wagtail Country Park boasts a plentiful stock of Carp, Perch, Roach, Rudd, Tench, Barbel and Bream. We welcome anglers of all abilities to experience the joy and tranquillity of fishing, and there is more than enough space to find your own quiet peg and enjoy a successful catch. Products from ‘Lakeside Angling Supplies’ are available in reception.

Fishing here is exclusive to Wagtail Country Park touring visitors and lodge owners. No day ticket anglers are accepted.

Only our landing mats and nets must be used – with anything else to be provided by the fisherman

Our lakes are well stocked with a variety of fish:

Carp upto 20lb – Koi Carp up to 5lb – Perch up to 2lb – Roach up to 1lb – Rudd upto 1lb

Tench up to 4lb – Barbel up to 4lb – Bream up to 3lb and much more!

Fishing

You must provide a valid fishing licence prior to being issued a fishing ticket

Adults: £8 per day for 1 rod, £12 a day for 2 rods
Children: (13 – 16 years requires licence) £4 per day for 1 rod, £6 per day for 2 rods
Refundable Cash Only Deposit Required for Landing Net and Mat (please bring your own standard screw-fit pole)
Fish for 7 days and only pay for 6

High quality Skretting course pellets (1590 protein) 2ml – 4ml – 6ml – 8ml & 11ml all £3.50 per bag
Sweetcorn
Luncheon meat
Floats

Fishing Rules

NO PEGS TO BE RESERVED OVERNIGHT

A valid rod fishing licence is required and must be presented.
Only Wagtail mats and landing nets to be used. Deposit £20.
Fishing from dawn until dusk only. No night fishing.
Children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult, at all times.
MAXIMUM HOOK SIZE 10.
BARBLESS HOOKS ONLY. No Barbed or Microbarbed Hooks.
Tackle must be moved from the lake if peg is unattended.
Fish being photographed must be held over an unhooking mat and returned to the water quickly.
NEVER leave bait or tackle unattended.

(Any equipment left unattended for over 1 hour will be removed)

Bite Alarms allowed but must be kept to a low volume.
No Keep Nets to be used.
No floating baits or surface fishing.
No Boilies or Trout Pellets or Nuts.
Strictly no braid main line.
Please do not throw in Ground Bait – only use in feeders.

PLEASE TREAT FISH AND OTHER ANGLERS WITH RESPECT AND BE MINDFUL OF WILDLIFE AND WATERFOWL.

PLEASE RETURN FISH VIA THE LANDING NET.

PLEASE REPORT ANY WILDLIFE PROBLEMS TO THE OFFICE.

We do bailiff the lakes.

If any of these rules are abused, it will result in no fishing, and you may be asked to leave the Park.
